About

Kumkani goes beyond the stereotypical African imagery of spears, skin shields and carved wooden animals, to produce a new African trend of modern, regal style and world-class sophistication.

Derived from the Xhosa word meaning ‘king’, Kumkani is an award-winning wine that celebrates South Africa’s rich heritage, eclectic mix of people and abundance of natural resources.

The brand sports an elegant African crest which combines elements inherent to South Africa – elephant tusks representative of the shape of an African Nguni warrior’s shield, a Xhosa lady with a traditional beaded necklace offering a calabash to the king, a diamond as the symbolic heritage and natural beauty of South Africa, a lion as a symbol of African pride and the King Protea, reminding us of the country’s heritage and natural beauty.
